Straffen er betragtelig for sådanne fritidssysler - bemärk, at den allerede dömte udover et livsvarigt jagtforbud også er dömt til aldrig at måtte eje vildtköd...

The Nova Scotia chapter of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society will be watching very closely to see the sentences given to two Joggins men convicted of possessing a trio of moose carcasses just over a year ago.
Dale George Brown, 41, and 29-year-old Jamie Daniel Brown are to appear in Amherst provincial court Monday for sentencing after being found guilty last November of three counts of possessing an endangered species. They face a maximum $500,000 fine and six months in jail for each of the three moose that were killed in December 2004 at Moose River, near Parrsboro.
A third person, 40-year-old Terry Norman Patterson, was sentenced last spring to 12 months house arrest, fined $6,000 and ordered to forfeit his truck, a rifle and other items and banned for life from hunting or possessing any kind of venison after pleading guilty to three counts of killing an endangered species and three counts of possession of an endangered species.
Scott Brown said the parks and wilderness society is hoping the sentence given to Patterson will serve as a precedent for the other two sentences.
