U.S Repeating Arms/Browning
Winchester Firearms/Browning Public Relations Manager Scott Grange hasn't had an easy job lately, not since it was announced late last year that the company was closing its New Haven, Connecticut manufacturing facility, ending the production of the historic Models 94 and 70. Grange reported that after 10 years of trying to make the facility profitable, the decision was made to close the doors March 31st and that the company is "realigning its resources to make U.S. Repeating Arms more profitable." Grange also revealed that "we couldn't make the Model 94 and Model 70 right now if we wanted…" and added, "the rumor that we're going to take this right to China is a bunch of crap."

The rumor is Winchester Firearms is going out of business. The truth is, this company is going through a transition." -- Scott Grange, Browning/U.S. Repeating Arm Public Relations Manager
A new product of note from U.S. Repeating Arms is the Wildcat, a .22 caliber bolt-action rifle...the very first Russian-made rifle ever to be offered by the company.

"We've gone to Russia and have explored the manufacturing capabilities over there. We thought we'd give them a chance with this little .22," said Grange.

Browning's Paul Thomson touched on the vast array of accessories offered by Browning. The clothing line, the CST (Close to Skin) line of under garments from Browning are designed to keep an outdoorsman dry, cool and to a degree...scent free (and according to Grange, "to compete with Under Armor.")

From Russia with love: The Wildcat is a bolt-action .22 caliber rifle manufactured in Russia for U.S. Repeating Arms, a first.

Browning also has a wide array of knives, carrying more SKU's than some fulltime knife companies. Of note, the Mastersmith Collection features five fixed-blade knives that were crafted by five different knifesmiths: Bailey Bradshaw, James Crowell, Jerry Fisk, John Fitch and Joseph Keesler. Each writer and editor in attendance was also given the new Black Lightning F.D.T., Model 625, which is an operator assist, folding knife that will be sure to be a part of a future hunt.
