Ruger® Issues Product Safety Warning and Recall Notice of SR9™ Pistol

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE:RGR), announces that it has determined that Ruger SR9 pistols manufactured between October 2007 and April 2008 can, under certain conditions, fire if dropped with their manual safeties in the "off" or "fire" position and a round in the chamber. The pistols will not fire if the manual safety is in the "on" or "safe" position.

As a responsible manufacturer, we want to make our customers aware of this safety concern as soon as possible. Ruger is finalizing the design of a new trigger group which prevents firing when dropped and will retrofit at no charge all Ruger SR9 pistols with serial number prefix "330" (330-xxxxx).

SR9 owners can obtain information or register for the recall by:
• Visiting the Ruger website at: http://www.ruger.com/SR9Recall/
• E-mail: SR9recall@ruger.com
• Fax: 928-541-8873
• Calling the Ruger SR9 Recall Hotline at 800-784-3701 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. EDT.

When Ruger is ready to retrofit a consumer's pistol, Ruger will send a shipping box, label and instructions for the FREE return of the SR9 pistol to our factory in Prescott, Arizona. Work will be completed promptly at no charge to the consumer and the pistol will be returned at Ruger expense. All owners will receive a FREE SR9 magazine as a "thank you" for their patience and cooperation.

All owners of Ruger SR9 pistols are urged not to use their pistol until it has been retrofitted with these new factory parts. If owners must use their SR9 pistol, the manual safety should be kept in the "on" or "safe" position except when actually firing.

Ruger® M77® Hawkeye® .375 Alaskan Rifle Earns an NRA "Golden Bullseye Award"
June 12, 2008
Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE-RGR) is proud to announce the Ruger® M77® Hawkeye® Alaskan Rifle chambered in .375 Ruger has received a "Golden Bullseye Award" from the National Rifle Association’s American Hunter magazine. The Golden Bullseye Awards recognize products "remarkable in terms of innovation, reliability, safety, and for providing shooters and hunters genuine value for their hard-earned dollar."

Although the .375 Ruger rifles are available in both Alaskan and African versions, the staff of American Hunter selected the Alaskan because it "stands alone for features that hardcore hunters appreciate." Features specifically mentioned include the famous controlled-round feed, three position safety, durable "Alaskan Black" finish, light and crisp LC6™ trigger, and the Hogue® OverMolded™ stock that "makes the rifle almost stick to your hands no matter the weather."

Introducing New Chamberings for the Classic No. 1 Rifle
[Image: 2009-01-14i.jpg]
Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE-RGR) announces that fans of the No. 1 single shot rifles will have even more to choose from in 2009. Ruger has announced new chamberings of popular calibers in several versions of the classic Ruger No. 1 rifles.

The heavy barreled No. 1 Tropical (1-H) is now available in .416 Ruger, the new standard for dangerous game. Based on the popular .375 Ruger case, this "necked up" cartridge with a 400 grain bullet delivers over 2,400 FPS and 5,000 ft-lbs of energy at the muzzle. The .416 Ruger No. 1 Tropical, with its checkered American walnut stock, blued receiver, and 24" barrel combines beauty, strength and power in an affordable American-made single shot rifle.

The .300 Ruger Compact Magnum (RCM) is now available in the Ruger No. 1 Light Sporter (1-A). Based on the beltless .375 Ruger, the .300 RCM is engineered to top .300 Winchester Magnum performance with less felt recoil, longer barrel life, and superior performance at all temperatures. The No. 1 Light Sporter features a 22" barrel with an adjustable folding rear sight and dovetail-type gold bead front sight. The No. 1 Light Sporter has an American walnut stock with Alexander Henry-style forend and blued receiver and barrel.

The Stainless Sporter (K1-S-BBZ), with its black laminate stock, semi-beavertail forend containing the stainless steel receiver, and a 22" barrel, is now available in .375 Ruger. Introduced in 2007, this new powerful cartridge outperforms the venerable .375 H&H and is available from Hornady Manufacturing in three charge stopping loads. The rifle features an adjustable folding rear sight and dovetail-type gold bead front sight.

Four additional calibers have been added to the No. 1 Medium Sporter (1-S) rifle line that features a checkered American walnut stock, a blued receiver, and medium weight barrel. The 22" barreled versions of the Medium Sporter are now chambered in .375 Ruger, .475 Linebaugh (also capable of shooting .480 Ruger), and .460 S&W Magnum (also capable of shooting .45 Colt and .454 Casull).

The .338 RCM No. 1 Medium Sporter features a 26" barrel designed to optimize the performance of the cartridge. The .338 RCM, also based on the .375 Ruger, is available from Hornady Manufacturing. It outperforms the .338 Win. Magnum in an equal length barrel with less felt recoil, longer barrel life, and superior performance at all temperatures.

Originally introduced in 1967, the Ruger No. 1 rifles have become the firearm of choice for those seeking the challenge of placing a single, accurate shot. These American-made, falling block rifles are available in calibers ranging from .204 Ruger to .458 Lott. All models except the heavy barreled "Varminter" are equipped with quarter-rib scope mounts machined to accept Ruger patented scope rings (provided at no charge) that never shoot loose.

The Ruger No. 1 rifle is an under-lever operated falling block single shot rifle. Its artillery-style breechblock is lowered by operating the under-lever, exposing the firing chamber. A single cartridge is inserted into the firing chamber, the lever is closed, and the rifle is ready to fire at a selected target. A convenient sliding tang safety is instantly visible and readily accessible.

When the shooter only has one shot, it must count, and the Ruger No. 1 rifle provides a strong, accurate, dependable rifle for precision shooting.

Ruger Introduces New Platform in Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle
[Image: 2010-12-29.jpg]
Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is proud to announce the Ruger® Gunsite Scout Rifle, the ideal "fighting carbine" in .308 Winchester that is a credible rendition of Col. Jeff Cooper's Scout Rifle concept. Cooper called for a relatively lightweight, hard hitting, do-all rifle that in the hands of an accomplished shooter was able to place accurate, sustained fire out to long ranges, yet was quick-handling and light enough for all-day carry.

Developed in conjunction with Gunsite instructor Ed Head, the Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle is a new platform in the Ruger M77® family. While the Scout Rifle has M77 features such as controlled round feed and integral scope mounts (scope rings included), the 10-round detachable box magazine is the first clue this isn't your grandfather's Ruger rifle.

"Ruger has taken an in depth look at the intended purpose of a Scout Rifle and developed a full-featured rifle designed to meet the Scout Rifle criteria of hunt, fight, defend," says Head. "This firearm offers outstanding features in an affordable, versatile and reliable rifle designed to deliver .308 Winchester performance in a variety of situations. It is compact, lightweight, offers 10-round box magazines, can be fit to the individual shooter, and accommodates a host of optics. It is a serious rifle for those serious about rifles."

The Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle has a 16.5" medium contour, cold hammer-forged, alloy steel barrel with a Mini-14® protected non-glare post front sight and receiver mounted, adjustable ghost ring rear sight for out-of-the-box usability. A forward mounted Picatinny rail offers options in mounting an assortment of optics - including Scout Scopes available from Burris® and Leupold®, for "both eyes open" sighting and super-fast target acquisition.

A Mini-14/SR-556® flash suppressor is effective on reducing the muzzle flash that may be present on some .308 Winchester loads when fired out of the short (16.5") barrel. The 5/8-24 muzzle threads allow most standard .30 caliber muzzle accessories - flash suppressors, muzzle brakes, and sound suppressors - to be installed.

The Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle features a matte black oxide alloy steel barrel and receiver on a black laminate stock with sling swivel studs and checkered grip and forearm. A soft rubber recoil pad, with three 1/2" spacers allows the length of pull to be adjusted and allow the rifle to be properly sized for different shooters, or to give the shooter the proper fit with outerwear or defensive gear of varying thickness. With its compact size and weighing in at just under seven pounds, the Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle combines ease of carry and shooting for the serious Scout Rifle enthusiast.

The rifle's trigger guard and magazine well are formed with glass-reinforced nylon. The magazine release is a push-forward Mini-14 paddle just ahead of the trigger guard. "Gunsite Scout Rifle" is engraved on the grip cap of the laminated, weather resistant stock, and the receiver is roll-marked "Ruger Gunsite Scout", commemorating the collaboration of Ruger with Gunsite Academy, America's oldest private firearms training facility.

As they say, beware the man with one gun, for he probably knows how to use it. Never has this been more true than with the Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle, the one rifle to have if you could only have one. It is the perfect lightweight, hard-hitting, do-it-all bolt-action rifle - where rugged, reliable Ruger meets the practical, tactical.

For more information on the Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle, or to learn more about the extensive award winning line of Ruger firearms, visit www.Ruger.com. To find accessories for the Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle or other Ruger firearms, visit www.ShopRuger.com.

Ruger Introduces 25-Round Magazine for Ruger 10/22
[Image: 2011-04-29b.jpg]
Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) announces that owners of America's most popular autoloading rimfire rifle, the Ruger® 10/22®, can enjoy the extended fun offered by the new 25-round BX-25™ magazine. The new, genuine Ruger BX-25 magazine features the same correct angle feed lips that deliver the famous reliability of factory BX-1™ 10-round rotary magazines.

The BX-25 magazine will work in all vintages of Ruger 10/22 and SR-22® rifles, as well as all Ruger Charger™ pistols. The BX-25 magazines have stainless steel feed lips and use a stainless steel "constant force" spring. The anti-tilt follower is injection molded from Celcan - a high lubricity polyacetal. The magazine body halves are injection molded from durable glass-filled nylon.

"These are genuine Ruger factory magazines. We designed them. We didn't license and rebrand someone else's magazines," said Ruger CEO Michael Fifer. "We tested the BX-25 magazines extensively and they work as well as the original Ruger BX-1 rotary magazine, the gold standard for rimfire autoloading reliability," he continued.

The Ruger 10/22 is available in many configurations, including the special edition officially licensed Ruger Boy Scout™ 10/22 Rifle. Millions of shooters worldwide have learned the basics of firearms safety and marksmanship using a Ruger 10/22. It is a favorite of small bore hunters, competitive shooters and target shooters everywhere. Over six million Ruger 10/22's have been produced since it was introduced in 1964.

Sturm, Ruger Introduces The Ruger SR-556E, A Value-Priced "Essential" Two-Stage Piston Driven Carbine with a Lightweight, Adaptable Handguard
[Image: 2011-04-29.jpg]
Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is pleased to announce the introduction of the new Ruger® SR-556E™, a value-priced derivative of the popular SR-556®. The new SR-556E features Ruger's patent-pending two-stage piston and multi-stage regulator that runs cooler and cleaner than traditional AR-style rifles.

The Ruger SR-556E comes equipped with a new, lightweight, adaptable handguard which provides multiple options for mounting optics and other accessories. This new, round handguard features a full-length Picatinny rail at the 12:00 position, which aligns with the rail on the flattop receiver. The handguard also accepts sections of rail or handguard covers, available at ShopRuger.com, which allow the user to configure the handguard to their exact requirements while minimizing size and weight.

The SR-556E still offers the basic features that make the Ruger SR-556 family a success. The two-stage piston operating system runs cooler and cleaner than gas driven rifles, and the multi-stage regulator allows the operator to tune the rifle to the specific ammunition. The cold hammer forged 41V45 barrel provides outstanding accuracy and longevity. The barrel is threaded 1/2-28 and is capped with the Ruger flash suppressor. The regulator, piston and piston bore are chrome plated, the transfer rod is nickel-Teflon coated, and the balance of the rifle is hard coat anodized or black oxide treated.
