New Tipped TSX
For 2009, Barnes is adding five new bullets to its Tipped Triple-Shock™ (TTSX) lineup. The TTSX bullet adds a streamlined polymer tip to the company’s best-selling Triple-Shock X Bullet. The polymer tip and re-engineered nose cavity mean even faster expansion. The tip also boosts BC, improving long-range ballistics.
The Tipped TSX™ features a 100-percent copper, lead-free body. Multiple rings cut into the shank relieve pressures and virtually eliminate copper fouling. The rings also contribute to the bullet’s outstanding accuracy.
Hydraulic pressure forces the nose of the TTSX bullet open, causing it to expand instantly on contact. Double-diameter expansion creates four cutting petals that wreak extensive internal damage. The bullet retains virtually 100 percent of its original weight as it produces pass-through penetration. Count on this bullet to exit the far side of deer or elk, even when heavy bones are struck. Exceptional TTSX performance means clean, quick kills.

New M/LE bullet line
MILITARY/LAW ENFORCEMENT BULLETS
AVAILABLE DECEMBER, 2008!
Barnes is introducing an all-new line of M/LE bullets designed for military, law enforcement, and training use. Based on technology Barnes developed for military applications, these new bullets fill a niche in the fast-growing civilian Tactical market. Many are excellent choices for personal or home defense.
Barnes’ new RRLP (Reduced Ricochet, Limited Penetration) bullets feature a frangible, powdered-metal copper-tin core inside a guilding metal jacket. The bullets are lead-free—often a requirement in military and LE practice environments. These open-tip bullets won’t come apart in mid-air, even at very high velocities and extreme rates of spin. They combine accuracy with explosive fragmentation, and won’t destroy steel practice targets.
Frangible bullets lacking a protective jacket tend to break apart inside autoloading rifles. A major selling point for RRLP bullets is that they remain intact under the rigors of autoloader feeding and firing. They eliminate the primary cause of jammed actions and plugged barrels often experienced in firing frangible ammunition.
RRLP bullets include a 55-grain 5.56mm (.224”) bullet designed for military-style autoloaders and other firearms with rifling twist rates of 1:9” or faster. A 140-grain 7.62mm (.308”) version is intended for tactical autoloaders and bolt-action rifles with 1:12” or faster twists. There’s also a 108-grain (.310”) RRLP for 7.62×39mm rifles. These multi-purpose bullets are designed for shooting steel targets, competition, plinking, hunting and home defense.
All-copper TAC-X™ rifle bullets have a proven reputation for accuracy. They’re designed for controlled double-diameter expansion, maximum penetration and full functionality at long range. Straighter tracking through barriers and better weight retention than with lead-core bullets. Available in 55, 62 and 70-grain 5.56mm (.224”); 85 and 110-grain 6.8mm (.277”); 110, 150 and 168-grain .308”, and 123-grain 7.62×39mm (.310”) weights and calibers.
Designed for law enforcement and personal defense, 100-percent copper TAC-XP™ pistol bullets meet the requirements of lead-free practice environments. They maintain their original weight and track straight after being fired through intermediate barriers like car doors, plywood and automobile windshield glass. Available in .380 ACP, 9mm, .38 Special, .357 SIG, .357 Magnum, .40 S&W, .45 GAP and .45 ACP calibers.
TAC-LR™ Long Range bullets are manufactured with state-of-the-art precision CNC equipment from pure, free machining brass. A high ballistic coefficient, precise tolerances and exceptional accuracy make this the ideal projectile for extreme long-range shots. Available in 50 BMG.
New Spit-Fire T-EZ™
Barnes’ NEW Spit-Fire T-EZ™ muzzleloader bullets load easier, even in tight bores. A new sabot reduces the ramrod pressure required to load and seat these .50-caliber, flat-base bullets. T-EZ bullets deliver the same match-grade accuracy all Barnes’ MZ bullets are famous for. The 100% copper bullets feature a polymer tip that enhances expansion and boosts BC for superior long-range ballistics. They expand at both close and extended range, creating six razor-edge cutting petals that maximize shock and penetration.

New Additions to Barnes’ TSX™ Bullet lineup.
Barnes Bullets® continues expanding its popular line of TSX Bullets. An improved version of the original all-copper X Bullet, the TSX features a series of grooves cut into its shank. The grooves significantly reduce pressures, allowing safe higher velocities. TSX bullets virtually eliminate copper fouling, while delivering outstanding accuracy and performance.
Containing no lead, the TSX features 100-percent copper construction. On impact, the specially engineered nose cavity expands into four razor-sharp copper petals that slice through game, producing massive hydraulic shock.
These all-copper bullets are known for deep-driving penetration and double-diameter expansion. In addition to being exceptionally accurate, they retain virtually 100-percent of their original weight after impacting game. Barnes—Unleaded. Unfailing. Unbeatable.™

Barnes Adds New Varmint Grenade™ Bullets
Introduced in 2007, the Varmint Grenade has rapidly become one of the most popular varmint bullets around. Based on a design Barnes developed for military applications, the hollow-cavity, flat-base bullet features a copper-tin composite core surrounded by a guilding-metal jacket. This extremely accurate bullet enjoys consistently high demand.
The bullet remains intact at ultra-high velocities, while its highly frangible core fragments explosively on impact. Produces instant fragmentation, virtually vaporizing ground squirrels and prairie dogs, even at long range. Expending its energy early, the Varmint Grenade seldom exits large predators like bobcats and coyotes, leaving valuable pelts virtually undamaged.
For 2009, Barnes’ best-selling Varmint Grenade lineup now includes 26-grain bullets for the .204 Ruger, new 30-grain .224” bullets for .22 Hornet firearms, as well as 36-grain .224” bullets, and 50-grain .224” bullets for rifles with 1:10 or faster twists. There’s also a 62-grain .243” Varmint Grenade for 6mm rifles. While these lead-free bullets are environmentally safe, they’re deadly on prairie dogs and other varmints. The unique, instantly frangible core ends worries of ricochets.
Varmint Grenades are sold in 100- and 250-bullet packs. Factory loads are available from Black Hills Ammunition.
