It is estimated that the loss related to a CSF-outbreak in Denmark represents

Denmark and 3.1 billion DKK in a Danish scenario with wild boar present.
The problem in case of an outbreak is that the overseas markets need
documentation to verify that the wild boar population is no longer infected
in order to open their markets for Danish pork again. It is not enough to
document that the domestic pigs are free of the CSF. Furthermore, the wild
boar population expansion over the last five years in Europe has questioned
whether an effective culling of a CSF-infected wild boar population is
realistic within a one year time framer.

boar expands to and becomes common in Denmark. Based on econometric

This is crucially depending on the assumption that the value of wild boar hunting is comparable to the value of deer hunting.
