Soon after, the 40 grain solid point and the 37 grain hollow point were introduced and have been available for many years. The .22 long rifle is considered to be the most accurate of any cartridge. It is the most popular match cartridge in existence and also one of the most widely used small game cartridges. There are probably more .22 rifles and handguns produced than any other caliber in the world. So why do we sometimes hear, "Oh, its just a .22?" Because some folks don’t stop to think, is the answer.
