DefenseReview first reported on the M16 Clinic AR-15/M16-platform 5.56x45mm subcarbines/SBRs (Short-Barreled Rifles) back in December, 2004 in our article titled Exclusive Video! M16 Viper 5.56 Subcarbines for Security Operators and SPECOPS. That article discussed the select-fire/full-auto M16 Viper 5.56 subcarbine/SBR (Short-Barreled Rifle) and M16 Viper-XRP (eXtra-Range/Perimeter) subcarbine/SBR (also select-fire/full-auto 5.56mm).

Well, DefenseReview has received a two new brand new video clips from the good folks at M16 Clinic. The first video clip features the M16 Viper subcarbine/SBR being fired on full-auto. The second video clip features the M16 Sniper Viper rifle/carbine with Extended Rail being fired in semi-auto and full-auto modes. There are two M16 Sniper Viper variants: Standard model and Extended Rail model.

This was the first video Defense Review ever showed of the M16 Viper in action.

All M16 Vipers are custom (custom made, custom-tuned, etc.) weapons/upper receivers that operate via direct gas impingement, as opposed to the HK416 (Heckler & Koch), P.O.F-USA P-415/P-416 Gas Piston Upper w/C.R.O.S. (Corrosion-Resistant Operating System), and semi-auto-only Colt LE1020 carbine/subcarbine/SBRs, which are all gas-piston-driven/op-rod-driven.

The Winter 2006 issue of The Tactical Edge Magazine contains an article on the M16 Viper subcarbine/SBR by Robert W. Parker on page 70 titled M16 Clinic's Viper delivers a reliable bite. The Tactical Edge also featured a M16 Viper-variant on the cover of its Fall 2005 issue. The Tactical Edge is the "Official Journal of the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA)." The M16 Vipers are "NTOA Member Tested and Recommended."
