Hej Mech Inf
Du are mest velkommen til komme på PD jagt med os.
You could go Prairie Dog hunting by yourself, but it takes time til
line up ranch land to shoot on. We have over the years got permission
til hunt from ranchers og land owners i Eastern Montana.
We leave Northern Michigan usually the first week af Juni og drive til Montana for about 8 to 10 dag. It takes us 2 dag out og 2dag back..så we get about 5 til 6 dag shooting time.
Private ranch lands..no hunting license is needed og public eller national grasslands ,license are required og kan be bought at local
hunting-fishing stores.
most af the time,we shoot på all private ranch lands
Other states require hunting licenses or a land use stamp to hunt PDs
but Montana is fairly easy on that issue...big game is another story.
PDs are considered a pest eller varmint..so they get shot og poisoned by ranchers..The Counties we hunt in are Petroleum og Garfield counties i Montana.
This is big country med few trees..mostly grasslands rolling hills with washouts. We use 4x4 pickup trucks med tire chains if we need dem.If it rains the back country can be impassable as the soil turns til en greasy mess..so tire chains are needed.
Petroleum county has 400 folk i it og that county is around 120 square miles.
so people kan be far and few .Beautiful rugged country though and a tur we look forword til each år.We put about 3600 miles på truck overall each tur.
I en tur 2år back ,we shot i 4 dag ..360 PDs..4 Badger 42 western jack rabbits..1 rattle snake..1 raakcoon en dozen eller so gophers og 1 porkpine....thats 2 hunters doing the shooting.[]
Mvh.. Eric
