Leupold introduces the Tactical Prismatic Riflescope. The Tactical Prismatic is a 1x14 scope featuring a glass-etched reticle. It has a 30mm main tube, wide field of view and 1/2 MOA click adjustments.

Leupold’s Golden Ring Binoculars feature the exclusive Switch/Power technology for instant transition between magnification levels: 7X to 12X or 10X to 17X. A switch in front of the focus ring allows the user to instantly and fully change the power setting with the flick of a finger. The binoculars are available in 7/12x32mm and 10/17x42mm models. All feature contoured as well as flat padded eyecups, waterproof construction and Leupold’s lifetime guarantee.

The Golden Ring VX-7 hunting riflescope features the new Xtended Twilight Lens System, SpeeDial adjustments, argon/krypton waterproofing and a European-style fast-focus eyepiece. The VX-7 is available in 1.5-6x24mm, 2.25-10x45mm, 3.5-14x50mm, 3.5-14x56mm Long Range and 4.5-18x56mm Long Range models.

Golden Ring FX-III

Leupold introduces two new silhouette riflescopes in the Golden Ring FX-III series: the FX-III 25x40mm and 30x40mm Adjustable Objective riflescopes. They weigh slightly more than 14 ounces with an overall length of 13.2 inches. The scopes are available in either 3/8- or 1/2-minute Leupold Dot reticles and feature Leupold’s Index Matched Lens System and windage/elevation adjustment ranges of 40 minutes of angle. The FX-IIIs are constructed with a 1-inch main tube and are threaded to receive Alumina accessories.

Leupold expands its family of VX-L riflescopes with the Illuminated VX-L series. Available in 3.5-10x50mm, 4.5-14x50mm, 3.5-10x56mm and 4.5-14x56mm Long Range, the scopes feature Leupold’s illumination system with 11 brightness settings and the Light Optimization Profile. Hunters can choose between German #4 Dot and Boone and Crockett illuminated reticle options.

Leupold’s Green Ring Acadia roof prism binoculars are available in 8x42mm or 10x42mm models. Easy to use with eyeglasses, the binoculars feature black or Mossy Oak Break-Up armor coating, multi-coated lenses, an easy focusing system with oversize knobs and are waterproof.

Also new from Leupold is the open-bridge line of binoculars, the Green Ring Mojave. Available in 8x42mm and 10x42mm, the binoculars weigh 23 oz. and feature multi-coated optics, silver-enhanced, cold-mirror coatings and eye relief for users with glasses. They are available in black and Mossy Oak Treestand armor coatings.

Leupold has partnered with Mossy Oak to offer new armor coatings. Leupold’s Green Ring Cascades and Mojave binoculars and RX-II digital laser rangefinder are available with Mossy Oak Treestand armor coating; the Acadia is available with Mossy Oak Break-Up.


Leupold and the Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) have jointly developed the QDManager series of riflescopes. Available in 3.5-10x50mm, 4.5-14x50mm, 3.5-10x56mm and 4.5-14x56mm, the scopes have a matte-black finish and feature the QDMA logo. A portion of each sale will be donated to QDMA to help ensure healthy, ethically managed deer populations.

Leupold’s VX-7 line of riflescopes is now available in two long-range models: VX-7L 3.5-14x56mm Long Range and VX-7L 4.5-18x56mm Long Range. Features include Leupold’s Xtended Twilight Lens System and Light Optimization Profile, the Ballistics Aiming System and SpeeDial adjustment system. The Second Generation Argon/Krypton gas blend keeps the riflescope fog- and waterproof.

Leupold & Stevens Purchases Redfield Brand

Leupold® & Stevens, Inc. recently announced its purchase of the Redfield® brand and “all intellectual property and associated assets.”

Redfield was originally founded in 1909, and spent many decades as a leading U.S. producer of riflescopes, spotting scopes, riflescope mounting systems and binoculars until it closed in 1998. The Redfield brand subsequently changed hands several times, before being acquired by Meade Instruments, from whom Leupold & Stevens made the acquisition.

Leupold officials have initially declined to discuss the purchase price, or future plans.

Tom Fruechtel, Leupold President & CEO says the company will “carefully consider how to proceed” while being “cognizant of Redfield's historical significance and the place it holds in the hearts of millions of dedicated American sportsmen.”

New Options For Mark 4 ER/T M1 Riflescope

The following is a press release concerning Leupold's latest product introduction.

Engineered with reticles in the front focal plane, Leupold's newest Mark 4 4.5-14x50mm Extended Range/Tactical (ER/TTM) M1 Front Focal riflescopes are now available at Leupold dealers nationwide.

Featuring either a Mil Dot or Tactical Milling Reticle (TMRTM), the front focal design allows a shooter to increase the riflescope's magnification, as well as the magnification of the reticle. By doing so, shooters maintain the versatility of a variable-magnification optic as well as the ability to use the Mil Dot or TMR reticle to accurately range and engage a target at any magnification setting.

Designed for the U.S. Marine Corps, the Mil Dot reticle features a series of dots in one milliradian increments on the crosshair. Bracketing the target between dots allows the shooter to estimate range. The TMR expands on the Mil Dot principle incorporating a series of various sized and spaced hash marks for increased ranging precision and more accurate shot placement. The Mark 4 includes specific instructions on the use of both reticles.

The riflescope also features Leupold's Index Matched Lens System® for maximum light transmission and clarity, as well as reduced glare. The lens system provides shooters with superior contrast. Additionally, the lockable, fast-focus eyepiece delivers long eye relief to provide the shooter with nearly instant target acquisition and protection from heavy recoiling firearms.

"Precision shot placement can be a matter of life and death for military and law-enforcement professionals," said Mike Slack, Leupold's marketing communications manager. "When the situation calls for a long-range shot, the Mark 4 4.5-14x50mm provides shooters with the necessary sighting system to ensure the most accurate shot."

The Mark 4 4.5-14x50mm ER/T M1 Front Focal features 1/4-MOA click adjustments and has an adjustment range of 70 MOA. The riflescope's greater range of adjustments is allowed by its broad 30mm maintube.

Counterfeit Leupold Riflescope Warning
Leupold® is issuing a customer alert to purchasers of products, particularly via Internet sales, in regards to bogus Leupold products that are apparently being illegally imported from the People’s Republic of China. These products bear many of the marks and trade dress of current Leupold & Stevens riflescopes making them very hard to distinguish externally from authentic Leupold products.

In recent months, counterfeited Leupold Mark 4® riflescopes have begun to arrive with increasing regularity at the firm’s Beaverton, Oregon, headquarters for service. These products are not manufactured by Leupold and are not covered by the Leupold Full Lifetime Guarantee.

Leupold employs serial number tracking for all its riflescopes, so if a customer finds a scope that is suspect, he or she can simply write down the serial number and call 1-800-LEUPOLD to confirm if it is indeed authentic.

In general, most of the scopes appear to originate from Hong Kong (People’s Republic of China), and have “Leupold Mark 4” laser engraved on the bottom of the turret in a silver etch, while the black ring on the objective is etched in white and does not include the name “Leupold.” An authentic Mark 4 riflescope will always be engraved black on black and have the name “Leupold” engraved on the black ring.

Leupold Rifleman Scope

Leupold's new Rifleman QD Manager Riflescope takes the company's partnership with the Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) to a new level.

The Rifleman QD Manager 3-9x40mm scope features Leupold's new Rifleman Ballistics Reticle and represents a terrific value from Leupold's most affordable line.

The Rifleman, with the Rifleman Ballistics Reticle, retails for $275, and includes the Leupold fully coated lens system—for the clear, bright view Leupold aficionados are familiar with, along with windage and elevation adjustments in half-MOA increments, and a total adjustment range of 52 MOA for each.

The main tube is an inch in diameter and sports a matte finish.

The scope weighs in at 12.6 ounces and is 12.3 inches long.

It's not what you can see, but what you can't see that marks a dramatic change for Leupold's 2009 line. The company tossed all its old VX-3 scopes--no kidding. They were completely redesigned from the ground up. The 18 new VX-3 scopes feature an all-new lens system, the same used in the VX-7, which improves dawn and dusk performance. Leupold has introduced two new additions to its VX-1 and VX-2 lines.

The VX-1 features a new optical system with lead-free, precision ground and polished lenses coated with Leupold’s Multicoat4 lens coatings for resolution, clarity, and contrast that provides a light transmission of over 90 percent — enough clarity in all lighting and weather conditions.

The VX-1 also features an improved mechanical function over older models with finger-adjustable 1/4 MOA click windage and elevation adjustments. Also included is a new tactile indicator on the power selector ring, allowing for better grip.

In addition to mossy oak finishes, the VX-1 also includes long-range duplex rectiles with a lockable fast focus eyepiece design. Measuring 12.6 inches and weighing 11.2 ounces, the scope has an actual magnification of 3.2-8.8.

At 12.3 inches and 13.3 ounces, the 3-9x50mm features a large 50mm objective lens for enhanced light transmission up to 94 percent in ideal conditions.

Updated design features on the VX-2 include an oen-turn, externally threaded, fast focus eyepiece with an actual magnification of 3.2-8.8.

A finger adjustable 1/4 MOA click windage and elevation allows easy zeroing without the aid of coins or tools. Select models are also available with custom dial system (CDS) elevation dials for long-range accuracy.

The scope’s new maintube includes an updated power selector design, which includes an easily legible tactile power indicator.
